How the test is marked

Two rules decide your result

Most people only prepare for the first. A strong overall score is not a pass if a single values question is wrong.

Overall
15 / 20
At least 75% across all four parts.
Australian values
5 / 5
Every values question must be right.

Our mock test marks you by both rules, and the coach keeps bringing back values questions until you get them right every time. Try it free → Values guide and drill →

Who is behind this

A note from the founder

When I was preparing for the citizenship test, I learned that answering more questions was not enough. What helped most was understanding my mistakes and focusing on the topics I found difficult.

I created CitizenCoach to share that approach and make your preparation clearer and more focused.

Questions

Common questions

Is it free to try?

Yes. The mock test, practice questions and the full study guide are free, with no account needed. Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Is the mock test really free?

Yes. Take one full mock test now with no account: 20 questions, 45 minutes, marked by the real pass rules. A free account gives you 2 more, and premium gives you unlimited.

Is the content official?

Every question is written from Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond, the Department of Home Affairs resource the real test is based on, and is reviewed and approved by a person before it is published. It is study material, not questions from the official test. After you answer you can see the exact part and page it comes from — and the full editorial process is on the methodology page.

How is this different from the free citizenship test apps?

Free apps give everyone the same fixed deck. This builds you a different set each day from your weak concepts and the questions you have gotten wrong, keeps a mistake notebook on a spaced-review schedule, and gives you a readiness estimate you can actually read.

How long does it take to get ready?

Most people need a few weeks of short daily sessions. Your plan is built around your test date and the time you can give each day, so it tells you whether you are on track.

Is it up to date for 2026?

Yes. Questions are versioned against the current edition of Our Common Bond and updated when the source material changes.

Do I need to install an app?

No. CitizenCoach runs in your browser on a phone, tablet, or computer.
